By LandVest

We are pleased to welcome you to the LandVest Real Estate Blog.

We dedicate this blog to anyone interested in getting the latest information related to:

LandVest professionals will use this blog to present timely and essential information to assist you in making informed decisions. Every Wednesday we will offer you a new post with a guest feature from one of our LandVest experts. Expect to hear from our Real Estate Consulting team on the latest in planning for family lands, valuing special properties, conservation planning and carbon and ecosystem services, or from our Timberland Group bringing you updates in Timberland Marketing or Timberland Forest Management, or finally, from our Luxury Real Estate team who will share some tips on buying and selling extraordinary Camden Maine real estate, We hope to make this your go-to place and invite you to send your questions and comments to: info@landvest.com

Since we have just re-engineered our web site, we thought we would use this week’s blog to point out a few features that will make searching for real estate or timberland a little bit easier.

The Keyword Search will search through every property description, so try entering a particular feature that you are hoping to find. For example if you are in need of a dock for your 100-foot yacht, type in deep water dock. If you are looking to add a particular type of timberland to your timberland portfolio type in northern hardwoods or southern pine plantation. If you saw one of our ads in the Wall Street Journal or New York Times and want to quickly look it up, just type the name or location into the keyword. Finally, if you have worked with one of our brokers and want to look up the properties they are listing simply type in their last name and you will get their listings. Sign in and register for a landvest.com account so that you can save a search or better yet set up an e-mail alert. This will allow you to select your search criteria and anytime a property is added that fits within your search criteria you will get an e-mail alert within 24 hours of it being on our site.Ultimately, if you do not find what you are looking for, we encourage you to contact one of our brokers. For confidentiality reasons many LandVest listings are sold through our private network and are not marketed publically or posted on any website.

As a final note, we would like to present a regular feature where we poll our area specialists for the best places to live.

Please read our first Best Places to Live blog post.

  • lv OK, Where is the best place to spend the summer?
  • JRD: Without a doubt, NANTUCKET! There is nothing better than a summer in Nantucket.
  • lv Give me 5 reasons why you think Nantucket is the best place to live?
  • JRD: 80 miles of pristine beaches Historic Architecture Over 50% of the Island is conservation land Boating, fishing, sailing, kitesailing, surfing… World-class dining.
  • lv Give us a brief description of the Island.
  • JRD: Nantucket is a historic whaling port 30 miles out to sea, it is a magical place of great natural beauty and historical significance. Almost half the island is conservation land and features wild moors, plains, and fresh water ponds. Wild roses and hydrangea grow profusely on the island. Eighty miles of Nantucket beaches are pristine and offer suburb surfing and swimming. Sailing, fishing, golfing, biking, bird watching, antiquing, museum hopping, fine dining and shopping are favorite pastimes. The island hosts a variety of events including the Nantucket film festival, Nantucket wine festival, Daffodil weekend, Christmas Stroll, Figawi racing, and the Opera House Cup regatta. Stand on the top of Main Street and look down the cobblestone street to the yachts docked on the waterfront and to the Brant Point lighthouse beyond-it is truly a spectacular sight.
